Local authority revitalisation grant scheme for business
Local Councils in Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom are now giving grants to local businesses to adapt their normal working procedures to cope with the impact of the pandemic. These grants are to support local traders in an effort to enhance their capacity to serve customers in a safe environment. One of the most important and practical measures in the protection of customers is the provision of sanitisation stations at different locations throughout their premises. Sanitisation stations are covered in this Council Revitalisation Recovery Grant Scheme.
Application for the grant scheme opened on 11th August and is time restricted in that applications have a deadline of noon on the 28th August. It is not an open-ended grant in that each council will have a specific finance ceiling, in other words when the money is done, the grants finish.
For Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, the minimum grant available is £1000, applications for grants between £1,000 and £1,500 do not need quotations but must show that they have used due diligence to achieve value for money. Quotations are needed for applications over £1,500. The grants go up to a maximum of £30,000.
